DAY 3 OF POST-TAARUF MZJ

Salam my dearest princesses! Well, I've been waiting for Kak Shak to help me with the write-up. What to do, all of us were very busy for the past 3 weeks. So many things had happened. Anyway, I still want to finish reporting what we had done on day 3 of your post-taaruf . We started day 3 with the academic talk.

Well if you still remember what I mentioned during the academic talk, I did ask you guys to be be able to adapt and adopt to your new surroundings.
You must remember that studying here is not as same as studying in your secondary school. You must be proactive in whatever you do. Do not wait for instruction, you must be able to think what you need to do before you are asked to. Do listen attentively, to instructions of lecturers, announcements being made as well as good advice from your seniors. InsyaAllah, you will be okay!
We have given you some guidelines on now to survive here. Hopefully, you will grab the chance given to the fullest and ensure your ticket to succeed in your life. The seniors/facilitators are here if you needed some advice, just open your mouth and ask nicely. If you start anything with a simple word "PLEASE", nobody could say no as that simple word have a very strong impact on people.
Anyway, I just want to say that now, after surviving the 3 days of taaruf, gotong royong beutifying your hisbah & Mahallah, singing Mahallah song and sharing your supper together, I am proudly announcing that the newcomers of batch 2010/2011 are officially members of Mahallah Zainab Jahsy. We love you all!!!!
WASALLAM & TAKE CARE.

P/s: Do gv some feedback,I wish this blog to be our medium to talk heart to heart.

2nd Day of POst Taaruf MZJ

Continue with the DAY TWO.
It was raining cats and dogs. The committee had to postpone the registration after maghrib at 745pm instead of the normal time on 645pm. Students were required to have their congregational maghrib prayer on their own. Quite a number of people were questioning why we did not perform Isya' congregational prayer but try to understand that things happen. We can plan but the end result, only Allah s.w.t. can decide. Hence, in future, try to be as suportive as you can because you never know what will happen if you were to conduct an event.

After finishing the registration, students were given talk on "Hygiene" by Madam Shahidah Said. One of the most memorable part is when she taught the students on how to wash hands properly and every student had to raise her hands and follow the steps shown by Madam Shahidah. I was quite surprise! What were these girls doing? Actually, I didn't really pay attention before, that's why I was a little bit lost! Right after that I made sure I listen attentively. It is imperative for the students to know how to wash their hands properly due to second wave of extremely dangerous H1N1. Remember friends what had happened last year during the first attack of H1N1 here??? Other important aspects she mentioned were mostly on women personal/intimate care. Being a young woman, we should take extra care and be cautious on this matter. How lucky we are to be given such talk that is considered taboo in certain families. Madam Shahidah, thank you for your motherly words of wisdom...

Done with the talk, Madam Sharifah Nafisa (or famous by the name of Madam Shifa) took over the mic and lead the Mahallah Gotong Royong. The students were divided into their respective Hisbah with the committee holding "sepanduk" that could be seen so that they knew where they belong to. They were further divided into smaller groups and being assigned to certain venues like, Study Rooms, Musollas, Gym and Mini Library. The rest were given a task to beautify their hisbah's softboards.

Throughout the Gotong Royong, I saw the first year students interact and at the same time ta'aruf with the second year students to ask their permissions to decorate the sofboard. And among the first year students themselves, they ta'aruf with each other, share stories and laughters while pasting the sofboards. Haven't you notice that your number of friends are increasing? The more the merrier!

For those who cleaning up the Study Room and Musolla, they had pretty much done a great job when they brought down all the unused and left books to the MRC Room. I know the study rooms were a bit dusty, but they managed to clean it.
Same goes to the musollas, a bit unorganised, but again, it was now more presentable. Before this, it was not that bad, you could still pray in the musolla, but the students did a good job getting rid all of the unused things. For the MRC Room, hehe, i gues now it is the MRC's turn to clean their room ;)

Gotong Royong ended pretty early as all the students have given full cooperations. Nice Job everybody !

Lastly, Congratulations to all for surviving the DAY TWO of becoming the Fairest Maidens of Mahallah Zainab Jahsy :>)

POST-TAARUF MAHALLAH ZAINAB JAHSY!

It has been hectic this past one week. With non-stop ta'aruf programme, I bet everyone is very tired and exhausted. But KUDOS/CONGRATS to each and every one of you, who is still strong to continue the journey of this Post-Ta'aruf Programme organized by Mahallah Zainab Jahsy. I see a lot of tears of joy (or ?...)in this programme.
It started with DAY ONE.
Clueless faces of all first year students. I know you guys can't predict what will happen, is it going to be awesome, or vice versa. Registration at 645pm followed by congregational Maghrib & Isya' prayer, along with Ya~Siin recitation and tazkirah on "Ukhuwwah" by Ustazah Marzidah Hashim. I remembered Madam said "bukan sahaja salam 1 Malaysia, tetapi, 1 Mahallah". Yes, that's the right word to show the ukhuwwah among you guys. Just look at the pictures, mostly smiling faces even though you do not really know one another that much.

At 9pm, team building started, lead by Madam Suzila Alias. Students were divided into TEN GROUPS, contain of FIFTY STUDENTS from ALL PROGRAMMES. Hehe, sounds hard right? But every team managed to find their team members! Congrats! Then, the task was given. They had to list things in 30 minutes, any kind of things, they saw at Mahallah Zainab. That's not it, they had to present it to everyone using their creativity on how to present it, let it be sajak, dikir, pantun, drama, boria etc etc.

30 minutes passed. Group Visionera started first. They did cheers first, tailed by dikir barat. Then followed by Group ZLG and so on. Every group was given SEVEN MINUTES to present. After 70 minutes had passed, NOW, the moment they had been waiting for, THE RESULT MOMENT. Madam Marzidah and Madam Suzila were the judges for this event. Honestly, they said, it was quite hard to give marks and to choose who's going to be the winner as all the groups were showing their very best. Alas, every competition has traditions, to win or to lose. Finally the decisions were made.
First place went to Group 7, with enthusiastic coral speaking. Second place was Group Visionera with dikir barat, and third place went to Group 10.
One big thumb up to our dedicated fellows, Mdm Suzila, Ustazah Marzidah, Ustazah Ilyani & Madam Kamaril Azlah for their willingness to spend their precious time, leaving their families behind to be with us tonite. We love you Madams :-)
Congratulations to all. You have passed the first test of becoming The Fairest Maidens of MahallahZainabJahsy:<)
